Graveyard Chocolate Mousse

Halloween is our favourite time of year here at Discount Party Warehouse. We love dressing up and flaunting our Haunt and have come up with an idea on how to spook up your party desserts as well. These Spooktacular Graveyard desserts are absolutely delicious, quick and easy to make – all the staff here can attest to how delicious they are. Needless to say, they lasted 3 minutes after the photos were finished - Yummo.

We have so many styles of mini dishes available you can opt for different shapes and use different biscuit headstones to mix it up a bit.

Mini Tasting Dishes

All you need is:

450g good quality dark chocolate – use either buds or a block chocolate roughly chopped

(300g for melting and 150g for grating to make topsoil)

3 eggs at room temperature

¼ Cup Caster Sugar

1 tablespoon of cocoa powder

300ml thickened cream

1 pack of Arnotts Honey Jumbles for the headstones

Chocolate Icing with nozzle for the “RIP”

Lollies for decorating graves – to add a bit of colour

Mini Square Slanted Dishes Pk 12

Clear Mini Spoons

Method:

Step 1:

Place the Chopped Chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water careful to avoid the water touching the bowl. Stir until the chocolate has melted. Remove the bowl and set aside to cool.

Step 2:

Place the eggs and sugar in a large bowl and beat for 5 minutes until the mixture is thick and doubled in volume.

Fold in the cocoa powder and the melted chocolate into the egg and sugar mixture until it is combined

Step 3:

In a separate bowl, whip the cream until thickened but do not over beat.

Use a large spoon to carefully fold the cream into the chocolate mixture without over folding. It is important to keep the mixture as light as possible.

Spoon the mixture into the 12 mini dishes and refrigerate for at least an hour

On the back of the Arnotts Honey Jumbles pipe the icing with a thin nozzle “RIP” or whichever design suits your spook.

Remove the dishes from the fridge 15 minutes before serving. Top with the grated chocolate to make it look like soil.

Place the Honey Jumbles into the mousse.

Decorate with lollies – things like flowers, pumpkins look great and add a bit of colour.
